Within the scope of the promotional activities conducted under the coordination of Ibn Haldun University’s Directorate of Corporate Communications and Promotion, and organized by the Promotion Office, a total of 2,112 students from 75 different high schools—who achieved significant success in the YKS in Istanbul—were hosted on our campus over an eight-week period starting from the last week of October, under the title “TercihFest – Social Sciences 101.”
Throughout the program, students had the opportunity to gain a closer insight into the social sciences through workshops led by our distinguished academic staff. In addition, they were able to experience university life firsthand through promotional seminars and guided campus tours.
Intellectual Preparation for Informed Choices
The event aimed to help young people—who have not yet reached a crossroads in their academic and professional paths—discover their areas of interest, make informed choices, and take their first steps toward university education with intellectual preparedness. In this context, distinguished high schools such as Kartal Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, Bahçelievler Prof. Dr. Mümtaz Turhan Social Sciences High School, Beylikdüzü Vali Muammer Güler Social Sciences High School, Fatih Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School, Başakşehir Mehmet Emin Saraç Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, Pendik Ömer Çam Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, Beyoğlu Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, Güngören İTO Girls’ Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, and Zeytinburnu Samiha Ayverdi Anatolian High School also took part in the program.
93 Workshops Organized with Contributions from 73 Academics at Social Sciences 101
As part of the program, a total of 93 workshops were conducted with the contributions of 73 academic staff members. Through these workshops, students engaged with theoretical and practical content across various disciplines of the social sciences, gaining an academic experience at the university level.
